very small leak in the box, and poly fill???

ok guys, i have my system that i built. the only problem is that i slightly cut the opening too big and one screw didnt grab the wood enough to seal. so not i have a VERY SMALL leak. is there anything i can do to fix this without rebuilding?

also, is poly fill worth it? i have 2 JL 12W3v3 powered by a JL 500/1 in a regular cab STX. i was just wondering what poly fill would do to this system.

poly fill makes the subs act like they are in a bigger box then you have them in.

I personally would redo the box, but thats just me.

yeah i know what you mean, i found out the box i built was missing a few screws, so i put a ratchet loading strap around it for now

Maybe you can stack some tape or something on the edge of the wood that was cut back too far, and then that might help seal it up, both in twords the middle of the hole, and up twords the back of the sub

do you have and extra half inch? you can double up the baffle and cut a new hole in that

Meaning if your subs' required airspace volume is bigger then the volume of the box, then you will want to use some. If your box is bigger then needed for the subs. then you may think about putting something solid like more MDF inside the box to lower the volume

As suggested, I would just cut a new front baffle that your could seal and screw to your existing box.
OR, depending on how big of a gap there is and how temporary you want it...ducttape. Serious.

As for polyfill, I dont even mess with the stuff.
