I just did Alpine 5x7's all around, type R in front and type S in back and WOW, very nice. I dunno about infiniti, mostly hear about them in Chrysler's so can't say if they're good or not, just the Alpine's kick ***.

Yes, the whole back door panel needs to come off. The speaker grill does not pop off like the front ones.

The Alpines...

Good choice. I just put the same setup for the front and the 2 way type r coaxials in the rear and they are awesome. Make sure you power them with a good amp though. Even though Im sure you already thought about that.

what amp to run...

I have been using the alpine mrp-f450 to run mine. But I like alpine for some reason. At first I tried just using the headunit and forget about it... They sound great with an amp to give them the power they want. I think they are getting about 70 watts rms X 4. It is a little more power than they need, but I have always heard that it is ok to overpower your speakers a little, rather than underpowering them. Also, the peak on the speakers is higher than the peak on the amp. Either way, give them some power and trust me, you will be happy.

Later,
Ghost

got the speakers, and they wont fit in the door openings.theres 2 mounting tabs on either side that wont allow the mid speaker to go into the opening.can you just cut these tabs off, dremel, hacksaw??
