1 or 2

hey guys just wanted your input on something. what do you think the better setup would be for an 07 scab 4x4. 2 10's under the rear seat or 1 single 12 under the rear seat?

thanks,
russ

2 tens might be louder(more cone area moving air) and one 12 might go lower. I like the sound of 12's more than 10's myself. If you can fit it, I would go with a single 12" for the lower bass and still plenty loud.

Are you planning on lifting the rear seat? You will be hard pressed to fit a 12" sub under there with no seat lift. What kind of budget you looking at for the sub/subs and amp?

go with tens man. heres my reasons:
1) space. its going to be hard to fit a 12 under there, trust me. and in this much space you have to use a sealed box, and in a small sealed box the 10s will drop just as low as 12s will. you dont want to lift your seat, nobody can sit back there without bashing their head on the roof if you lift it.
2) sound. 2 tens will obviously be louder, given the space. they are smaller, meaning built for smaller airspace, so they will sound better too.
3) clarity. tens are more accurate then 12s. in your truck, you will want good sound quality.

example: i have a 04scab 4x4, like your truck, and i have 1 single 10 (audiobahn alum10n), its built for small sealed enclosures, handles 800 watts RMS, drops below 20Hz (human hearing cant even pick these notes up, but you can feel it) and it gets very loud while retaining excellent sound quality (efficieny rating is 95.6dB). only 5" mounting depth. it also has a built in grille to keep the cone from hitting the floor. it was literally the perfect sub for my setup. trying to get a 12 under there just wont give you these results.

DO this...

1 12" fi Q

and go on ebay and find a 1000 watt rms amp made by hifonics

fiQ is around 260 i think shiped
and the amp off of ebay is like 200esh i think

then look up some info on how to build a ported box

eather sub box over seat.. unbolt and bolt seat to box maybe...
gota get thinken...

or make a box go in the mid of the seat up to the arm rest...

but that is what i would do for a really good setup at a nice
price

o ya and for the sub if you want info on it go to

https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraud...dex.shopscript

O YA and the sound to watt ratio gos down with 2 10s compared to 1 12..

power after like 1000Watts rms you have to start looking into a new alt and batt and what ever to
get the power from dipping

this would be a good plan except for that he wants it under the rear seat. fiQ will not fit under there, not even the 10 inch version...

it seems to me like you are looking for a budget system that will give you some thump, but you want it under the seat. if i were you, id get either 1 or 2 tens and put them under the seat. do with the kicker cvrs or something with similar power setting and mounting depth, and put them under the seat. if you use 2, you will mount your amp behind the rear seat. if you only get 1, mount your amp under the passenger side rear seat (i did this). tomorrow im going to make a thread with lots of pictures on how i did my system, so you can read that for more info.

i know how you feel, i put my first system in my truck when i was 16. it wasnt under the sea though, and now im 19 and i redid it to be under the seat, and it was cheaper. my thread will explain it all. good luck with your system.
