Everyone knows my favorite subs are Image Dynamics. You can get a brand new pair of 10" IDQ for around $320 shipped. I might consider looking for a good used mono amp to run the subs with anywhere from 500-750 watts total. You will still need a box. If you do not want to build one, there are several companies that make them to fit under the rear seat. A dual 10" box should run in the $150 range. If money is real tight, a pair of Elemental Designs 11Kv2 are a pretty good choice. If you want the best quality for the price, I might consider browsing the car audio forums for some used subs and amp. You can also get a cheap box on ebay that will do the trick.

These are just what I might consider. There are lots of subs and lots of amps to choose from. Stick with good brand names and you can put together a nice sounding setup.

I'm going with 1 10 from supercrewsound.com I got the ID10d4v.3 with the box and extra depth required, and grey OEM carpet for ~$270 Shipped to my door. I then went to Best Buy and got a Rockford Fosgate P325.1 amp (400x1@2 ohms) for 130 w/ tax. So for $400 you can get a decent system. I'll let you know how it sounds if it ever gets here and I get it wired up.

hey man i just pretty much bought the same thing let me know how it sounds. I do not much about id subs so im a little concerned about what it is gonna sound like. and how much actual bass is gonna come out of this 10 inch sub. Im thinking i really should have sprung for the dual.

If you decide to cancel your order you can drive up here to Anaheim and I will let you have my (6 month new) dual 10" supercrew sound box with ED11kv.2 subs for $200.

Well i just purchased a new amp the fosgate power 1000 5 channel and i believe it runs 600 into 2 ohms on the sub channel. will they sound good on that. I must admit i dont know much if anything about ed audio, and why dont you like it? Weak bass about or something. I am still trying to get out of the deal with supercrewsounf though i like the idea of having two tens vs one.

It will work with your new amp.
I based my purchase on information from Bartak1 and dconder and was very happy. I was on a budget and did not want a seat lift for 12"s at that time. Well I got a deal on 2 new in the box IDQ 12's last week that I could not pass up so I am selling the ED's

Here is the current price on Supercrewsound
Ford F-150 SuperCrew Cab 04-07 Dual Sub Box Charcoal Carpet
2 - 10" Cutouts Mounting Depth: Add 5/8" to depth $159
2 Elemental Design 11Kv.2 ............$250
Subtotal $409 + Shipping $30 = Grand Total $439

Go with one quality 12" for now. They often have higher excusrsion than the 10" of the same product line.

You can always add another 12" later

Best Buy said it was last years model and was getting rid of them for the new line. I might go pick up another one incase I add another 10 down the road. Waiting to see how the one sounds first.

Im going to scream!! I do this for a living. And it all depends on the box size and type of 10 or 12. Im seriously tired of hearing things like 12's sound better and all that crap. NOT TRUE! I have heard 10's hitting deeper than 15's and 15's hitting quicker than 10's. All depends on the sub box. I have a 10W6 in a Custom ported box that hits harder and deeper than a friends Alpine R-12. He even has me out powered. And as far as cone movement its 28% more moving air for the 2 10's. Not a huge difference in size. 157 in2 (10) vs. 113.04 in2 (12).

So what are your thoughts sub-wise and what kind of music do you listen to? And are you thinking sealed or ported?
