Will it harm my sub?

As long as the gains are properly setup, you should be fine. Like Barak said, even with your volume at 3/4, the sub will rarely see 500 watts if ever. Music is just way to dynamic. You bet it can blow the sub but, set properly, you should be able to play all day long with no problems.
