2007 FX2 super cab component systems

I would like to upgrade the speakers and add an amp to my stock OEM head unit. I listen more to classical music and bag pipe music. I do not need a big subwoofer. I need good midrange and tweeters. I was looking at going with some component systems up front and then coaxil for the back doors. The shop that just put my alarm in has a ARC amp 50 X 4 for sale at $279. I just need speaker suggetions that I could use to replace the stock ones without any or little mods. Thanks.

DB Drive it! www.dbdrive.net A few of us here have purchased DB Drive components from Travis at www.kcautosound.com My next door neighbor's super cab system uses a DB Drive Speed Series SPA120.4 four channel amp rated at 120 watts times four. In the doors we went with their Platinum Series 5 1/4 components in 5x7 adapters from Scoshe. In the rear we went with Platinum Series 5x7 coaxial/components. They are a 5x7 coaxial but they have a crossover network like the fronts to seperate the mids/highs. I followed Travis's recomendations and ran both fronts and rears off of the front two channels of the amplifier. We then ran a DB Drive DB Series 10" subwoofer off the rear two channels of the amp in a box from XE Designs under the driver's side rear seat. Running all four off two channels was no big deal. Think....how often to you REALLY fade your speakers? This truck sounds great! The DB Platinums have a beautiful sound. The highs have three levels of attenuation and you can feel the punch from the midbass even without the sub. The amplifier came with a bass **** that I mounted under the dash so he can turn the bass up and down depending on the song (or if his wife bitches!) We ran it all off of his factory headunit using a PAC Trunk-Loc and a PAC SNI-35 adapter. The Trunk-Loc piece has a remote turn on lead that turns the amplifier on 2 seconds after the radio turns on. That way you don't get a "POP" sound from the amplifier.

arc amps are among the best of the sq amps. go with that and a nice set of components up front and you'll be set, I wouldn't bother wasting money on the rear. run the stockers of hu power fade mostly to the front and run a single 8 on the extra 2 channels from the 4 channel amp.

I was looking at going with some component systems up front and then coaxil for the back doors.
I went with Infinity 6810cs (components) in the front doors and 6812cf (coax) in the rear doors. Got both pairs for under $200, new. The 6810cs crossovers fit perfectly in the armrests (see gallery). No mods required.

Styx is right about using the HU to power the rears. But, the Infinity coax are an inexpensive upgrade from the OEM rears, so why not. You could also bridge the ARC ch 1/2 and 3/4 to power the front doors and see if you can get away with out a sub. Otherwise, 1 & 2 would be front doors and 3/4 bridged for the sub.

Thanks to all for all the help. I know a strange mix but I play the bagpipes and after a long day at work classical is a nice way for me to relax for the ride home.
