04+ guys, where the HE!! did you run 1/0?

Ok, Im so p/oed right now. I though I would run my power wire today. Ive been told the grommet behind the battery on the firewall was a good place, so for the last *******ing hour and a half Ive been trying to run it through there. I cant feel my hands or arms. Ive accomplished nothing. If I had a pack of smokes they would have been all gone in this hour an a half. I wish I had a stick of dynamite that I could stick down there and then I would have a 3 foot hole I could throw the wire though.

Id like to keep the wire on the passengers side, but right now Im about ready to run it anywhere. I wish I had some damn conduit and I would run it underneith the truck to the back wall.

I fought it forever too and ended up just pulling the main harness out and running the wire though there it isnt sealed and has the possiablilty of rubbing through the the wire but I ran it in wire loom and am praying for the best. I know it isnt the right way but I did it when it was 110 F and I was tired of messing with it.

Driver's side is easy access

I ran power wire thru the easy access rubber gromet on the driver's side, then RCA's and speaker wires back and forth on the passenger side.

Here's a photo of the driver side pass thru hole with the rubber cover off to punch out an interference diameter for my power wire.

Haha, well I went back out there and had it poked through in less than 5 minutes Guess I just needed a break.

Thanks anyway guys.

Styx, just curious what your doing about moisture and water back there. Does your bedcover actually seal stuff up good enough that you dont have any water or what?

Haha you all do it the hard way. Just go behind the battery and the passengers side wheel well. Then under the body support brackets and back into the truck. Takes no time at all to do it. I'm uploading pics to my gallery right now. Sorry I'll get a pic later of it coming up under the rear passengers door sill.

The last image is the speaker wires running on the same side as the power.

I went the same route as Impact but I used conduit to protect mine.

Yeah, running it like that would have been nice and easy, but I like the fact that its a little more protected inside the cab.

Oh well, its done now

I did the same think as Impact the first time but when I did it I used the channel that runs the length of the body by the rocker panel I thought it was really protected in there. Now I have an Optima in the tool box so I took that wire out and ran it from there. I can gets pics of the channel if anybody needs them.

You know those air vents back there can come in handy. I was having a hell of a time finding a short run to the frame for my grouding block. I decided to cut a hole in my sound deadening and pass my 0/1 gauge ground wire through the vent. Another quick and painless route.

My cable are protected with 2 layers of heavy duty poly mesh sleeve. www.mcmaster.com

If you can get pics please do. That would be a great addition to this thread.
