ok wow, looks like we are all gettin confused now...

So are we still thinking that the best amp for my 2 300w @ 4 ohm dual coil subs is the Kicker 04SX600.2 which produces 300x2 @ 2 ohm?

Something like the KICKER ZX850.2 wouldnt be better. It produces 295x2 @ 4 ohms and is the same price

you cannot wire a dual 4 ohm voice coil to be a 4 ohm load. only 2 or 8 Ohms, so you should be looking for either:

300w x2 @ 2Ohm
300w x2 @ 8Ohm (but thats expensive)
600w x1 @ 4Ohm
600w x1 @ 1Ohm

thats it, concrete

600 watts is 600 watts it'll all come down to whichever has the lowest THD and noise floor since its all the same power

Just to make sure, I can't run a amp at 600w x1 @ 2Ohm ?

lol, im sorry. I just like to make sure before i shell out the dough.

But one more question and Im done. I can get the Kicker zx750.2 for the same price as the 600. Would it be a good idea if i got that as it would give me a little more head room and the ability to upgrade down the road?

The Kicker zx750.1 would be fine as well. Just adjust the gains to a bit lower to keep from frying anything.

more power than needed is good, just use a dmm and set the gains to rms using a -0db 60hz tone and you should be fine, I have about 500 watts going to a 350w rms sub, that overhead really adds to the dynamics, but don't get greedy with the gain
