1 10'' sub vs 2 10'' subs

I know that 2 is better than one, but will one sound good at all. I have a 2002 Ford F-150 extended cab, and I am looking to put a sub under the rear seat. Prolly go with JL or Audiobahn. I would go with 2 subs but I figure I will just mount the amp on the other side. Any thoughts. Thanks

One 10 will sound great depending on the sub, enclosure, amp, and your ability to tweak. Up till yesterday I was running a single Stereo Integrity BM10 in a Q-Forms 1 cubic foot enclosure being fed 500w RMS from a JBL amp. Bass was tight and would shake the crap out of my truck. It would grab attention and people thought it was a 12 for the shear volume it would produce. It was a very nice compact setup.

That's funny...JL or Audiobahn. That's like saying BWM or Hyundai.

You'll love the performance of ONE good JL sub that is in the proper sized enclosure. Of course with any sub system, buy as much power as you can afford or fit into the vehicle!

Are you going for SPL or SQ? If you are going for SQ buy JL W3/W6 on a 250/1 or 500/1. And DO NOT BUY Audiobahn. If you are going for SPL buy a Audiobahn and go 20% over the RMS of the Sub.

I have a JL 10W6 on a 500/1 and JL XR570-CSi front and back with a set of RF P1694C in a QLogic 6x9 boxes. All on a 300/4. With JL Power wires and Streetwire interconnects running off a Pioneer DEH-P6800MP. One of the top 15 cleanest systems under 1200 watts in the area.
