Simplest is to unscrew the seat bottom from the risers, there are about 8 or 9 little torx headed screws. Stick some kind of spacer between there, then put longer bolts through it all with bolts. Some people have used things like a 2x4 piece of wood, which will raise it 3.5 inches, or some square or rectangle tubing. Pretty simple

I like your truck too.

I assume the same would work for a '99? ( https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=283586 )

Yes IROC, the 97-99 seats are the same, so it will work.

I TOTALY forgot about the two bracket things at the back of the seat, that bolt to the floor, then to the bottom of the seat to reinforce where the seatlatch is.

You would have to put a piece of whatever your using to raise the seat between it and the floor, then use longer bolts.

If you don't mind me asking... where'd you get the longer bolts? what "grade" etc.?

Thanks... oh, and wouldn't something metal to raise it up be the bestestest?

I just grabbed them out of a bin in the shop. We buy big boxes of bolts and such at a time, so they were just laying around. You should be able to pick up just the amount you need at most any hardware store I would think.

They were a Grade 5 bolt. Depending on how much you raise the seat, you might still be able to use the big bolts that hold on the brackets at the back. If not, finding a bolt like that, but longer could be a challengs. A good store with a lot of bolts should have something though.

Personally, yes, I would use metal. I used some 1x2 inch rectangle tubing. Worked great.

Ill also add that there is another way to do it, which might be easier depending on the materials you can get.

On my buddies 00, he used a piece of 3 inch C channel. He bolted it straigh to the floor using the stock bolts, then bolted the seat risers to the top of it with some shorter bolts. If you have access to C channel better, or cant find longer bolts, that is also a good way to do it.

Heck, with only having to go up an inch, you could just cut little pieces of tubing in one inch peices and use them. If your only raising it that much, it would be stable, and might look better too.
