New 12" Subwoofer Box

Home made and I got the blisters to prove it.

Installing 2- 12" Stereo Integrity BM12's. Think it'll bump a bit?

Still in the process of painting it. Just couldn't waiting to start sharing the photos.

Dunno yet. I based it on Brypinks measurements but added a few inches around then modified the design for the slant. Since I slept through most of math class I 'll resort to packing peanuts and a 1 cubic foot box to check. If I get around to it that is cause my subs are screaming to thump.

Great job, Impact! What did you end up with on outside measurements?

This is with the LMI seat lift installed. It ended up being 51" wide and 19.5" deep 11" tall on the front with a 2.5" foot. The back is 5" tall. Small side is 14" wide then the 5" gap for the center seat support and 32" on the other half. There's a 10 degree angle for the seat bottom.

The angle on the front is hard to figure so using a angle finder is a good thing there.

I'll draw up some plans and post them in a few days.

Few more pics:

Pardon the funky angle, makes it look like it sticks out really far, only sticks out like 2 inches at the bottom.

Yea that rustoleum mutlicolor textured paint for like $6 a can at lowes. It don't show the banding as bad as normal paint. It's alright but I don't think it's going to hold up to the kicks. I got some 2" wide anti-slip tape that looks close in texture and color when the time comes for repairs.

Nice box! Looks very well built.
I have one suggestion that you do not form the wood directly around the hump on the floorboard ... It traps the sound to only come out of either side of the seat, and doesnt let as much air get to the subs as it would if you left some space in between.
Here is kinda what I mean... heres mine

... and brypink's

The way you have it...

has a very clean look to it as it is a nice tight custom fit, however it is not as functional.

Either way, it will sound good b/c you chose some quality equipment.
It is JUST a suggestion, as I am only trying to help... not come across as some rude, pompus, know-it-all and talk bad about your box b/c you have put together a very nice box, and a nice overall stereo setup (amp rack, box, equip. etc).

hmm that is a good point. I'll test that out soon as I get everything hooked back up. Nice thing about building it myself is I can cut it up pretty easily.

Thanks rowdy

haha look at the link to ROE. Then go up the forum chain ang look at the mag.
http://forum.realmofexcursion.com/forumdisplay.php?f=93

The Mag had a average SPL of 124.78 dB where the BM had a average SPL of126.65 dB.

I think I made a good choice with the BM12's. =)

Mag still kills a BM on the lows, but around 45-50 hz on up the BM is doing pretty good compared to the Mag.

I love the Mag and it would be my choice over a BM, but if I was buying them new it would be BM all the way just for the prices. The smaller depth of the BM would be nice too.

Either way, both are sweet drivers.
