Sound Stage
Sound Stage
Long story I blew my speakers in mexico and thats why I bought my rainbows. I had only had time to replace the fronts so I just faded all the sound forward so no crackling in the rear. I got some infinitys put back in the rear and faded it back to normal and I dont like how is sounds now, I liked it all forward, but then my rear passengers dont have any sound. Could someone teach me about sound staging or what should I do here, Bridge my JL amp and give the fronts all the power and run the rear off the deck, cut the backs out competely, center channel? I love my new front speakers what should I do to fill out my sound? What is everyone else running?
I have 2 JL 10 w3 Is that all you guys do? Fade it forward? In my maxima I had the alpine HU with the time allignment and loved it now but I cant find a HU with that anymore. I know I know about the infinitys, i am taking care of them next. I do a little system, a little lift and keep going back and forth. What is a proper sound stage that everyone talks about clue me in.

As far as rear fill... I used to run even fill front and rear, then I got brave and bridged my 4 channel to my front MB quartz to give them each 100W RMS and now run the rear MB Quartz off of the head unit giving them approximately 15-22W RMS. There is just enough wattage in the rear to please the rear passengers and too little wattage to affect my front soundstage. I am happy with this setup currently so that is what I'm sticking with.
Now if you want to get into 5.1 Channel staging then your in a whole different ballpark which you can still get amazing sound quality out of a 5.1 surround, it is a little harder to obtain than a good front soundstage.
MO POWA!!!
Or, as suggested, have the rears so you can JUST hear them, or not at all, from the front, but still audible for the rear.
OR...screw the rear passengers.
But like I said, a good set of comps with some good power will fill the cab with sound nicely.
