Matching carpet for sub box

I want to use one of the dual 10 boxes you see on ebay all day long but I want to have carpet that matches a lot better. I have the tan interior and almost every tan carpet I see is way too dark. Anyone have any luck with a better match. I am almost to the point were I will rip off the carpet and bondo all the seems and paint it up.

i haven't personally seen it but crutchfield.com offers some tan carpet for $29 for 3yards i believe and IIRC it looked pretty close to stock tan. just thought you may want to check it out

There's always tan vinyl. I'm using dark gray vinyl for my under-the-seat box. IMO it takes a perfect match to make a carpeted box look OEM.

Thanks Guys. I was hoping maybe someone new of a OEM carpet to get or something. Even the vinyl has to be a pretty dead on match or it clashes with the leather I have. That and I really hate how the seams turn out. Would have to have one long peace that covered the sides and front so you wouldnt see it when you get in and out.

I would look for a place near you that would handle automotive upholstry.

They would carry vinyl for sure, and offer little samples in numerous shades of tan to get it perfect.

That's exactly how you do it. The seams are a cross-cut "X" on the top where no one will see it. You're looking at a $20 investment at a craft store. If you have leather seats, vinyl is a no-brainer. I'm sure you can find a color that works. Your seats and the floor carpeting are already two different colors, so find something in-between. You should be able to take a small sample piece out to your truck to check it out first. I just brought a floor mat in with me.

BTW, craft stores are always full of good-lookin' women....bonus!
