Preliminary Box Plans for 04 and up Supercrew and Cab.

I know everyone is always wanting dimensions for sub enclosures on here. I have looked myself on this forum and compiled on what I think will work perfectly for my 2006 F-150 Supercab, based on several different dimensions posted by other builders on this site, especially Dupuis' dimensions. Don't use these for definite measurements, just a rough idea, as I am building my enclosure this weekend, and will let everyone know if everything fits as it should. The blacked out portions are just legs at the ends that are 7" long and 1.5" tall.

How were you able to fit the back height (4.75) in? I had trouble shoving that sucker in there.

I still have not built the box. I am building it tomorrow morning. These are just preliminary drawings. I got the 4.75" height in the back from Dupuis' enclosure dimensions that he already built.

If that's the size for the back I posted, it will and does fit. It will also allow you to still lift you seat up and down.

I did build a box. But I was all hungover and my dumbass added 3/4" to the rear height, so I don't know as of yet. I am pretty sure it will fit if you take down the rear height a little bit all the way across.

So you made the rear height 5.5"? Nice. Easy enough to do with a headache. Let us know how it turns out.

I did build a box. But I did not built the box I posted because I had no more room for my amp. I already put them behind the rear seat, and it wouldn't fit under my front seats. The 4.75" in the rear fits like a charm. I just used Dupuis measurements to build my box for 2-8" Arc Audio D4's. These things bang for 8's. Thanks Dupuis for the dimensions. And I know now that the dimensions I posted will work. So give it a shot.

No problem, glad it worked out for you. By the way, at the time I built this box, I built 2 of them. One I left sealed and the other one I ported. (which is the one I use) The ported was better and put out much more bass. Of course I have 200 watts going to each little 8. Great bass for such a small enclosure.

Dupuis,

My math makes your sealed box 0.69 cubic feet using 3/4" MDF. That's going to work out perfectly for my Polk MM2084. They need 0.35 each in a sealed box.

Maybe your RE8s needed more volume in a sealed box?

Nice looking subs!
I used 5/8'' MDF and put bracing for to prevent flexing. Your right, I made the biggest box I could for that area and it was still to small for both sealed and vented. But, to my surprise, these RE8s really stand out in this smaller vented box. Not so in the smaller sealed box.
