You must not have seen very many good under the seat installs. Especially with a seat lift. Maybe not for extreme SPL but for pure SQ, there are several on here that are excellent and will get really loud. Far from stock. Are you saying the only way to get a great system is do a cut thru? Sorry, have to disagree big time.

I remember this guy back home about 10 years ago he had a extended cab mazda pickup lowered to the ground. He had a like 4 10" elbow sewer pipes going through his back window. It looked good aside from it being white and obviously being PVC sewer pipe. Made me laugh everytime I seen it.

wow. i never said anything of what you quoted. I want the same set up that was in my ciggarete boat and thats exactly what i am installing. it will only fit in the bed. thats it! i know there are very many nice installs on here. i have seen that. never said otherwise. i can tell you no under seat install (even with a seat lift) is anywhere near the same category of the competition system i am building.
someone suggested i go with a seat lift and im looking for quite more than that.

dude the only way you can get loud is to have enuff room.... period. I wanted to get loud.... I pulled out my rear seats to get loud.... but before I bought the 2 18's and built the 20 cu ft ported box reality slaped my in the face and I decided to go with 4 little 8's instead... I still love it loud but am not willing to make the sacrifices to do so...... so go ahead sacrifice thy truck to the spl gods.... just be sure to post pics for me to drool over when your done

I quoted from what you typed. You stated "waste of money and not much better than stock". That is what I put in the quote. I do am not trying to start anything. I just wanted to put that a lot of us have great systems without cutting thru our cabs.

I understand you want big volume and the only way to get it is a cut thru. That is great. Go for it. I look forward to seeing it. It just sounded like you were saying our systems are not much better than stock.

No harm done.

now that you mentioned that, i guess i did say those things. i appologize and only meant it in a comparative way. I certainly didn't mean to offend. I will keep eveyone posted on the progress of this install and continue to ask advice where needed. I have much experience with systems, just not with this vehicle.

thanks again.

Is the equipment in your boat marine grade audio? Just curious. I do want to see finished pics though.

BTW, (not trying to start anything), but my system is by far anywhere near comparative to a stock system and I have an under the seat set-up.

Good Luck...it sounds like you have a plan.

actually, the only thing that is marine grade are the boxes. they have been fiberglassed to resist water because the sat in the engine compartment next to the 502's and the ports came throught the rear bench seat... much like i have planned for the truck. Most of the equipment was installed in the cabin of the boat so marine grade was not necessary. this system used to make water ripples around the boat and knock beers out of all the drink holders. massive. cant wait.

No problem at all. Just wanted to clarify. As you saw in the post listed, somebody came in to our little group boasting of his cut thru and got slammed pretty good. Of course, what he did and what you are purposing are light years apart. I look forward to seeing the work.
