Have a 2002 f150 lariat extended cab. I want to do a full system with two 10" subs. I have had a system installed by me in every car I have owned but this truck. I have everything I need but the subs in which I will get when I start this project. My question is: where will all this stuff fit, where is every one putting their amps? I have 3 amps, one for each channel, but I can use two if I need to, and a cap but still I have no idea where I can fit it? There is some room under the seats in the back but I cannot believe that two subs and multiple amps and a cap will fit all the equipment needed. I was thinking of selling my amps and getting a 5ch amp. As Im getting older I no longer listen to my music as loud as I use to, therfor I feel that a 5ch amp may be the way to go, but I still dont think I can fit it all under the little back seats, with two subs, a 5ch amp and a cap. I was also thinking of getting two of those square 10" subs instead of round ones, what do you think? Any sudgestion and pics would be greatly appreciated, the stock stereo in the Lariat is like listening to an AM station, its really a poor excuse for a stereo IMO.
I am not sure on the 02 but on the 04 and up, most of us are putting amps behind the rear seat and sub boxes under the rear seat. Other than that, you might see if you could fit an amp under the front seats. I would not use the cap. Not really needed. I have 3 amps on my back wall and no cap.
I agree that a CAP isn't necessarily needed. I think the industry over emphasized their importance a few years ago so everyone things they are necessary items. If you were competing in SPL Drags or something like that, then maybe. I pretty much agree with dconder here. If you can take your smallest amp or the one putting out the least amount of heat, and put that under a front seat, that would be serve you well.

behind the rear seat is just about the only place to put your amps I tried everything and that was the only spot i could find too but i did find a place to mount my PS2 i took out the rear fold down cup holders and a PS2 fits perfect and is hidden pretty well to
Back wall, or under the front seat is about it. In order for my to get my amp on the back wall, I had to cut some bracing out on the back of the seat, and move the bottom of the seat back out. If you dont do that, there is pretty much no way you are going to get an amp back there. I only have one back there right now, but once I get my wiring both amps will be back there, and they are just BARELY going to fit. Right now teh amp I have on my comps is small enough to fit under the front seat, but its a squeeze. Its a pretty physically small amp too.
