Up Fire, or Down Fire Sub??
I got mine from Moose the other day... doesn't seem like enough clearance for the woofer. I have a semi-circle carpet ring where the woofer sits - thus limiting it's travel. I don't have it crammed under the seat, but I also don't have it crowding the leg room. I'm using an Infinity 1052 that has pleanty of mounting depth - plus I figured most speakers share the same mounting height (above the MDF board).

I've read that about the musicmoose box quite a bit.
You can just get a replacement furniture (chair) rubber tip or two and screw them into the box's corners and give it an inch of lift...

I found some at the home improvement store.

Good to know...My Music Moose box should be here today. I decided to go with the JL 10W1 for the sub. I was going to use the 10W3, but I would have had to add a 1/4 spacer and it sounds there might not be enough room to do that....Good idea above.
Installed my musicmoose box today and I have to say I'm not very pleased. The sub pretty much sits on the floor and sounds horrible. If you space it up it definitly sounds better, but then you cant lower the seat. If I had to do it again, I would not install the musicmoose downfire box. As a matter of fact I will attempt return the box, if that doesnt work then its for sale....
This is the sub package we recommend with our box and the use of a grill! We install them everyday here at our shop and they sound awesome! http://musicmooseaudio.com/f150fs_loaded.html .Thanks, The musicmoose

When I ordered the box I told the guy what sub I was running and he said that would be fine, he even checked the mounting depth for me....

What sub are you using? I'm sure we checked to see if your sub would fit the box o.k. but probably still recommended the use of a subwoofer grill with F150F model boxes. We make them 5-1/2" plus+ top mount depth so you can get a decent sub in it and still fit under the seat of your F-150 truck. It leaves approx. 1-3/4" excursion room and as long as the sub cone is not interfered with the sub will work fine! The use of a standard 10" steel waffle grill works perfect and is what I suggest you use! Remeber, our goal is to build the biggest (internal air volume), deepest, best box for the money that will fit your truck under the rear seat. Thanks, The musicmoose

Sorry but a grill is just a band aid. You should not have to use a grill. A grill is going to smash against the surround and still not sound its best. You guys really should think about a redesign of your box or put a disclaimer on your web site that states only works with some subs. Mounting depth is not the only issue. I had one of your boxes for about a week. I tried 3 subs in it and they all either sat on the carpet or flapped against it while playing. Of all the premade boxes that are made for our trucks, yours is the only one I see this kind of complaint about. The box I have now I got locally for a fraction of the cost and there are no carpet hitting issues. And this is a premade mass quantity box designed for our truck.
