Speaker short?
Speaker short?
Got a problem. I'm not sure what to google for and didn't find anything on here. If I don't get any responses in a few days, I'll post this in GD or over in 2004+ forums.
My driver side speaker doesn't seem to get any power to it until I turn my radio up. I have to turn it about 1/3 of the way up until it makes any sound. My three other speakers will produce sound while this one won't until the volume is turned 1/3 of the way up. I haven't checked for short yet. Will try that this weekend.

Try swapping the front door speakers. If the problem follows to the passengers side then the speaker is fried. If not the headunit could be giving up the ghost.
I highly doubt your wires are shorted cause the headunit would of went out all together or popped the fuse. If it has a broken wire the sound wouldn't come on at high volumes while just sitting there.

Are they factory speakers or aftermarket? If they are aftermarket, check your connections at the speaker and make sure nothing came loose or there is not a bare spot on the wire maybe hitting metal.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll try swapping out the front two speakers and see what happens.
They are aftermarket pioneer speakers. Might be a good time to get myself an amp and a pair of component speakers.
