Question which INFINITY'S

Need help choosing Infinity speakers. Keeping factory radio(1cd) and just upgrading the stock speakers.

Infinity Reference # 6812cf
or
Infinity Reference # 6810cs
or
Infinity Kappa # 682.7cf

any probs with the factory HU pushing any of these?, I'm not a loudness freak.

thanks for the help

save your money and buy the cheapest option as your gonna end up needing a new HU, amp and headach if you buy the kappas. either one will be an improvement over the oem stuff

I had the 6812cf for about a month and my ears are still bleeding from the piercing highs. I was putting about 50 watts to each and I wasn't happy with them at all, they just didn't have mids. Some people are very happy with the Infinity's though so to each his own.

Knowing what I know now I would save my money and either put in a new head unit for some new speakers or buy an amp and some comps, but it's all about preference. I wouldn't replace the factory speakers without supplying them with more power though. Good luck!!

Alright.....

Would you guys suggest a new HU for my truck(02' F150 4X4 reg. cab), one that already has the amp and enough power to drive good speakers? I also just installed Sirius(guys my age have lost about 5 radio stations here in the Philly, PA area the last two years ) with the lifetime subscription so I might as well spend some more $, what the hey. I'm gettin' old, no need for ipods or mp3's etc., just a one cd receiver that'll do the job, thanks for the feedback

stay safe

I have the 6810 & 6812. The sound good to me. I replaced the factory HU with a JVC I had laying around. You can try using them with the factory HU.

I just put a whole system in my truck, and I have the Kappa 682.7's in the doors. They sound great to me (crystal clear sound-and loud) a huge improvement over stock. I was able to adjust the sound to quiet the highs because I put in a new h.u. (Alpine 9856) and a sub. That said, I would replace the speakers before anything else. Good luck

yellowFX4, the Alpine receivers seem to get good reviews, especially the 9856.....I'll have to read/investigate further on where to put the sub in a reg. cab.

thanks guys for all the help.
