speaker help
I have performed a search but I am still confused and could use some help. I have a 2004 FX4 supercab without the subwoofer. I am planning on replacing the headunit, possibly with the Pioneer D3 when they come out. For now I am replacing the stock speakers. I purchased 2 sets of Infinity Kappa 682.7 and the adapter wires from Crutchfield. My question is do I use the crossovers that were included with the speakers since I don't have an amp? If so, do I crimp connectors onto the stripped wires that are indicated to go to the amp so I can use the adapter harnesses? If not, which terminals do I put the adapter harnesses on? Both the tweeter and the mid-range have connectors. Thanks for your help!
Yes, you still need to use the crossover.
You have the adapter harness that plugs into the factory speaker plugs?
Just plug those into the factory speaker plugs, and connect the other end to your crossovers inputs. You can crimp on some terminals if you want, or else just slide the stripped wire in there and screw it down.
Then hook the tweeter and mid up to the crossover in the right spot and your good to go.
