Time for new speakers!

Hey all,
Im getting my old, and much loved Alpine CDA-9815 headunit shipped up to me from back home. It has the 60x4 (I think 27x4 RMS), bass engine PRO. Is there a good speaker that would sound good hooked up to this? Something that doesnt produce ear piercing highs, but has good sound quality? Thinking about some polk momo's, infinity kappas, or alpine type s. Or am I still better off buying another amp? Under $150

Thanks in advance

A good quality amp will outperform head unit power all day long.

I think the amp would do better get one that has some tuning capability, for frequency and they will sound good.

Dont need it on an amp with that HU. The 9815 is very capable of tuning his set-up. It's one of my all time favorite HUs.

EDIT: Just so I'm clear...get an amp.

Yeah, I had it in 3 different cars, then I left for the military, and put it in my dads car. After searching for a new one for awhile, I told him to take it out and send it back. The sound that this deck can produce is amazing!

Does anyone have suggestions for speakers? I would like to adapt from my 5x7 to a 5.25 for the front with a swivel tweeter. Again, Im after good sound quality (dont need a lot of bass, got a sub for that) and something that wont kill my ears with the highs. All I have to listen to in Alaska is Alpine, Memphis, Pioneer, Rockford, so I dont know much about the polks or infinity or anything else for that matter.

What would be required to fit 6.5" speakers in the front of an ex cab 1997 f150?

as far as speakers go...this is all personal preference ..but i have like my infinity kappas the best...those or the pioneer premier are really good at producing sounds that you are lookingfor.

tho to get the best out of what ever speaker system u choose ur hu wont have the "crankability" if u run all ur speakers off of ur hu...like some have said to get what u paid for get a nice 4channel amp
