Upgrade from Alpine Type-S to Type-R, worth it?

Here is my current setup...
Front: Alpine SPS-571a (component)
Rear: Alpine SPS-57c2 (coax)
Amp powering above: Alpine MRP-F240

Sub: Diamond Audio D1, powered by Alpine MRP-M450 amp.

Here's my question. I'm looking for a little more sound clarity from the front speakers, especially the high's at significant volume. I was thinking/wondering if I would hear a noticable improvement if I replaced the fronts with the Alpine type-R SPR-57LS components. I'd leave the amps alone for now. What do you guys think? Would it be worth it? Or are they just "slightly" better speakers, not worth ditching almost-new type-s speakers?

you will not see a huge difference by changing the front speakers as the type s are pretty decent already. I would suggest spending the money on a 4 channel amp and running your components through that instead should solve your clarity issues.

Thanks for the info. But could you please expand on what you mean by running my components thru a 4 channel amp? Isn't that what I'm already doing with my current setup?

You need more power going to your fronts. Run your rears off the HU and bridge the 4ch to a 2ch for the fronts. Where is Socal are you?

Just down the freeway from you in Riverside...

Ok, so I bridge my 4 ch amp to 2 channels. At that point, would it be worthwhile to upgrade to type-r's?

I would say no because you would be back where you are now. Underpowered. I talked with alpine yesterday on an amp that is a great deal but was told that it would sound o.k but not as good if I had more power going to the speakers
