  • The box I'm putting the sub in is .65CU
  • Do ya'll think that I will be satisfied with this set-up. I like extra loud & extra clean.
  • I've got $500 to spend on sub and sub amp, what would you do different with that kind of money to get the most?

I second that . I ended up not ordering mine and am waiting for measurements from bushtree from one of the boxes he made. Now I can use any sub with any mounting depth. The posibilities are endless, now its just deciding which ones.

LOL i think we are all on the same brain wave length here cause i was just pricing them. Bushtree was not exactly sure the exact mounting depth but its alot. Bartak theres a thread in the 04 and up forum with a picture of it. I'm so excited!! Brypink, im about to get some rainbows and Edead for christmas. Which rainbows would you recomend for under 350? I was surfing audiojunkies but i dont think they have all of the rainbow sets up. It's all startin to come together now

I would go with the SLC Kicks when running a sub. If you could squeeze another $100...I would definitely get the Germs...well worth the money.

That set-up would sound GREAT!!!! Germs and a IDMAX12...Even I would envy you. lol

Also, before the eDead...look at Damplifier from Second Skin Audio....great stuff and got great reviews.

thanks for all the help as usual bry. I talked to a guy in fort worth today that owns a shop that sells the idmax's and he said he would make me a deal on 2 12idmax's, the 2 ohm version. Im not sure what amp yet, possibly the jl 1000/1 or maybe something with a little more juice than that. I really want the Germ's and theyre on sale now so who knows . All i know is that im goin rainbow for sure this time on the comps, if not the germ's than the kicks. I currently have an infinity 7541a amp. It will do 111 @4ohms, is that enough for the Germ's and my crappy boston s85 rear fills?
BestNTX- sorry for hi jackin your thread man

Is that amp a 4 channel? I don't keep up on Infinity products (as you can tell). 100 watts on Germs??? I would give them more, at least 150. You can maybe bridge that 4 channel (if it is a 4 ch) and run the Germs for now but, I would get a better 2 ch amp down the road to power them.

Also, that 40% sell at Audiojunkies is ONLY what they have in stock and I didn't see Germs in stock. If I did, I would of jumped on them and a set of SLC Kicks. I told you what I can get them for...but, they've been on backorder for a while and just got some shipping over (from Germany). So, I would jump on them sooner than later...if that's what you want.

Also, one IDMAX12 can handle 1000+ watts...I suggest you go with one or get a BIG amp.

yea its a 4 channel. I decided to just go with the kicks and focus my efforts on getting a bigger amp. Im thinkin i will bridge it and just run the Rainbows off of it and use the H/U to run the rear fills. I would love to belly up and get a C2k 9.0, but I got invited to compete in the downunder games in Australia this summer, so all of my extra money(besides what I have put away for the system) is going towards my trip.
