Question Factory sub connector on 06Screw

I recently purchased a Kenwood KSC-SW1 Powered sub to fill in some of the bass. I have an 06 Lariat Screw. It did not come with the audiophile setup, but does have the 6CD/MP3/Sirus HU. Should there be a connector somewhere under the rear drivers side seat for the factory sub even though one is not installed? If so, couldn’t I some how utilize those wires for signal?

Thanks!

I was just wondering about the signal. Power/remote no problem ;-). It would sure alleviate running wires all over the place if the sub connector was there AND actually had a signal present on the leads. Not sure if the sub connector would even be plugged into the back of my HU since it wasn’t the audiophile option. Maybe the HU’s are the same? The 6disc/MP3/Sirus HU the same as the audiophile HU ?? Don’t know.

the audiophile is a different HU. there are 3 spots on the back. and one is for the sub. if yours didnt come with the sub, then your wire is there behind your radio tucked to the side. i just bought and installed a 6disc mp3 out of an 07 and it only had 2 jacks in the back.......hope this helps

Please post your findings

I was wondering the exact same thing. I just purchased an 06 Lariat Supercrew w/ the Premium 6 disc, mp3, sirius system. I do not have any bass. I would like to avoid having to do aftermarket work that will require new or additional wiring. I would like to add a sub or some better door speakers. Ask my dealership but they couldn't answer my questions.

What exactly does the premium system consist of?

Is the Sub the only additional feature of the Audiophile?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Crud! So the wiring is all there, but there isn’t anything connected at either end. Oh well. Guess I’ll just splice into the rear speaker wires. Was looking for an easier/cleaner way, but it’ll work. Thanks!

PS: SuhWEET color !

the audiophile has componets,sp, speakers in the front door, and 6x8 in the rear and a powered sub under the back seat. the wire is there for the sub, so if you can find an audiophile HU on ebay, must have the 3 slots in the back, and the sub.....you can hook it all up and be good to go....i also think the internal amp may be a lil more powerful but not sure........hope this helps!!!

Keep your HU and just use a line out converter or if your amp has line in, just tap into the rear speaker wires. Those Audiophile HU's don't pop up on Ebay all that often.

I agree. Just splice in a low level converter, (about $10) to your rear speaker wires right behind your deck. My '05 was really easy to find the rear speaker leads. I do have the audiophile, but main speaker harness is the same as yours. Then just route the rca cables to wherever your amp is and it's done.
