Speaker popping question
Speaker popping question
I am getting some popping feed back in my front component speakers. I first started to notice this a couple weeks ago. The popping usually occurs at low volume. Then when I turn the system up it seems to disappear.
Any ideas what this might be? Bad wiring? bad speakers? bad amp? bad head unit?
I have not clue what it is but would like some help if anyone has some ideas to throw my way.
My system is a Eclipse single CD, 10'' sub with 600w amp, front speakers are infinity perfect 6.5 components, back speakers are Polk 5x7's. The door speakers have an amp conected to them also.

Are you running one amp to the door speakers? If so, the popping should come from all four speakers if there is a wiring problem. And if it is wiring, I would think the popping would get louder with more power. Popping usually means you blew the speaker, but if it goes away it might be the cones are cracked and you just cant hear it pop at louder volumes.
