want an upgrade, need help

hey guys,

i dont know much about truck audio systems, but i do know mine needs an upgrade. i have a 97 single cab, with stock speakers and an aftermarket 98 pioneer cd player. i can tell that the bass is blown, and the overall sound quality is worsening. all i every really play is my ipod over my fm transmitter, dont use the cd player much anymore. so my question is, what is the largest and best buy speakers i can replace the stocks with? i dont want to spend alot of money, anything will sound great compared to what i have now. Also, since i mostly use my radio for the fm transmitter, is a stero upgrade worth the money, or an amp?

thanks for the help!!!

Polk seems to be a brand people are really liking around here, that you can get for a pretty good price. Another option is just to go to a stereo shop and listen to various speakers to see what you like best. If your running them off a HU you generally want to look for speakers with lower power handling, and high sensitivity (90db or above). You will need a 5x7 speaker size.

Even though you are just using an Ipod and FM transmitter, you will get a decent bump up in sound quality.
