blew the other solo....

I was jammin out and all the sudden no bass, I was like hmmm maybe a blown fuse, nope, checked the amp it has power, pulled speaker out it is connected, so I un hook it and take it inside to make sure, and sure enough it does not play. It's funny though I never seen or smelled smoke, and the sub does not smell blown ( the typical blown audio smell) some know what i mean. but oh well 5 years of use I guess I cant complain about it.

I was thinkin of just getting 2 more 12' L7's but I'm also lookin at oher subs. If there is somthing smaller/better than these I may get them instead, I want a good SQ are there any 10's that will get a "GOOD" SQ? I have a 1300rms@2ohms class D amp, for the power. basiclly I guess i'm tryin to get a little more leg room in the truck than what I had with the L7 12's in there so if 2 tens will put out bigger numbers than the L7's let me know what brand and model please, I will prolly never enter in sound off. I just want it for my own persnal listening.

Thanks guys yall have helped me out alot!

For SQL...I recommend Stereo Integrity MAGs. They don't come in a 10" though. If you are dead set on tens...they have a BM 10" (the MAG's little brother).

www.stereointegrity.com

Two MAGs would eat your amp alive and ask for more. One MAG can easily handle 1K. But it's cool...I know guys running 300-400 watts on a single MAG and lovin' it. It's a great sub...there's a few of us here running them.

You can also look into FI Audio...they've been getting decent reviews, TC Sounds, or an all around favorite...IDMAX! RE has a good following, but they sold out and are expensive now. IIRC, the designer/developer at RE is now at FI (or owns FI). Styx...where you at when I need you.

Anyway, that should give you a start.

I believe he owns Fi, pretty much the same as RE, just different woofers is what I get from it all.

Ummmm....I agree with Bry though

Thank for the link those 12" mags are very impressive!!! Are those DB's with 1 sub?? I dont think it said... I'm seriously thinking of getting 1 maybe 2 but I think I will have to buy another amp for 2, i'm running out of room for amps in the cab, I have both amps mounted under the seats and hat 1300 watt barely fit under it....

I'm also still debating on getting some more solo's just because I already built 3 custom box's for them and I really dont wanna build another box. That and those subs lasted me for 5 years lol.. I hate deciding, And I basicly said the heck with the leg room I dont sit back there lmao!!

I remember reading someone hitting 139.xx in a sealed box with only 600 watts to a single 12. With good power and a ported box, a single 12 is capable of lower to mid 140's in a daily/street application. I would love to get mine metered some time. Very impressive woofers.

1300 wouldnt be to bad on a pair of them. That would also work pretty good on a single one, I have 1200 going to my one. Remember you if you go with one, you are going to need the power at 1 or 4 ohm, and if you go with a pair, you'll need the power at 2 or .5 ohm.

Thats my other down fall, i'd have to get 2 for the 2ohm run, cause the amp can only go down to 2 ohms. but I guess if I go with 1@4ohms I wouldn't lose that much power.

just trying to decide...

2 mags would only be about a $100 more than the L7 12's so I guess I just need to decide on if i wanna build another custom seat/box or not.

I'll give another nod for the Mags. I run one in a sealed box with 1,050 watts and it sounds great. I also ran it with only 400 watts and it sounded really good. But, it came to life with over double the wattage. Great subs. I got mine used for a great deal. I would love to get a brand new one but, they are pricey.
