help me build my system

alright well I plan on adding an alpine iva-w200. I will eventually add a probox enclosure for two 10" subs if that matters, but I'd like to get my head unit and door speakers set up first. I want to get the best sound quality as possible, price doesnt matter.

*my speakers, amp(s), subs, and everything else other than the head unit will be soundstream products. http://www.soundstream.com/products-main.htm

with that said, I want to put component speakers up front and regular speakers in the rear doors. what size speakers do I need for the doors? also, what kind of amp will I need to power those? when I add the subs later on, will I need to purchase a seperate amp? and as far as a capacitor, how big of one will I need for the above products?

I dont know anything about car audio so I need some help with this.

You say money does not matter and then you say that all equipment besides the head unit will be Soundstream.
So are you saying which Soundstream speakers should you get?
If so and you want the best Soundstream has to offer, buy their most expensive speaker. A 5X7 or 6X8 would be a direct drop in. A 5X7 or 6X8 Separate set would be even better because you could put the tweeter in the top of the door under the speaker grill. There is a place for it there. This would make your highs clearer. I had JL Audio's XR570CSi's in mine and they ripped! I have 200 watts @ 2 ohms going to them. You will need 75 minimum.

You could also put a 5 1/4 set in there with a 5X7 to 5 1/4 conversion plate. Or a 6 1/2 but this will require a bit of cutting to fit. The bass response on the 6 1/2 should be lower, smoother and tighter. The difference in sound between the 5 1/4 and the 5X7 I don't think will make any difference. That is on the JL's which are premium speakers. Most companies go cheap on their 5X7 sets, but when JL made their XR 5X7's, they did not cut corners. The only ones better are the ZR570's which are the best I have heard. They are extremely clear. I heard them back to back compared to Focal's K2 line and the JL's outshined them for sure.
Separate amp for the sub, YES! Get a sub amp. or the perfect amp for what you are looking to do is JL's 500/5. One amp will do the whole truck. It's like 3 amps in one.
Regular speakers in the back for fill are fine. You may want to just block the bass to them so that they do no distort.
Power to the front separates? The more the better. 75 clean RMS watts (not peak) would be something to shoot for. 100 to 150, even better.

About 15 to 25 for the back will be fine.

Price no option, then of course go for the highest, nicest models they offer.
5x7's in the back, as tbrown said, and I's go for 6.5 comps up front, unless you dont want to do any triming/cutting, then go with 5.25's.
For the amp, you could get a 4 channel with good power to run your front components, and then keep your gains down on the rear channel if your rears cant take all that power. OR get a 2 channel for the fronts, and run the rears off the HU.

Id go with a separate amp too probably. Unless you wanted one amp, something like a 3 or a 5 channel, but I dont see anything like that.

First, I would get the H701 for your W200.

Then, for components...Rainbow Reference or Platinums (active), Genesis 2.2, Brax 2way PP, Scan Speak, etc.

Amps...Sinfoni, Brax, Arc Audio SE, Zapco, McIntosh, etc. (No particular order)

Subs...Aurasound, Rainbow, SI Mag, IDMAX, etc.

That should get you started!

LOL

Nah...just $20k.

Yeah, I would dump the W200 (H701 idea) and go with TMI-M990, DVI-9990, PXI-H990 & DAI-C990 combo. But that's just me.

Old thread, but I didn't wanna start a new one askin the same thing.

I want a set of 6.5" component speakers for the front doors. Been looking at the Soundstream TRC.6N and the Alpine SPR-17S. Any idea which one of these 2 sounds better? All I listen to is country and rock.

I aint gonna be puttin any subs in this truck, so X that out.

Now I need an amp. What's the smallest Alpine/Soundstream amp I can buy that will do the trick for me?

I was thinkin bout gettin this one. Would it be straight to run the components off of?
