Yeah, I can see how you need the actual seat for Bry Jr. and others People are barely ever in the back of my truck though.

Im going for ported this time around too. 2 cubes at 28 Hz, hopefully it still has darn good SQ, if not Im going right back to sealed .

Bryan...I assume your Mag's share the same space? You do not have seperate changers for each?

I hardly have people back there too. Byran Jr is back there every once in a while. I would have to figure out how to incorporate the box to the bottom bracket/bar to make it secure and safe. It's probably not gonna happen.

Yeah they share the same space...with it's odd shape I didn't think seperate chambers would sound that good. Plus, it would have been to hard to get the same air space between the two.

I thought so too. I am thinking about getting another 12" Arc and was just curious on that. Do you have any idea how much internal volume you ended up with? The Arc's optimum is only .9 so I would only need in the 1.8 range. Thanks.

My net volume is 2.26 ft^3...(that's after driver displacement too).

Brought back from the dead. Alot of people have been asking me about my box again so I thought I would bring this back up to the top.

How much of a gap did you leave for clearence on the subs? I was looking at your gallery and was unsure.

Would you guys recommend 2 JL's 10w6v2 firing forward or down with this type of box?

Your gonna have a hell of a time getting them to fit down firing. Forward firing is probably the better route. Especially, since you can get a grille to protect them. I really didn't hear a difference between forward firing or down firing. One of my favorite set-ups in my last truck was forward firing (a 12W7).

Maybe recess them in the baflle making the grill flush. That would look cool. Like I said...I could really tell the difference between the forward firing and down firing set-ups. Other than different subs.

EDIT: I could not tell the difference.

John,
Thanks for bringing this thread back up and a big thanks to Bryan for doing the write up. I'll be building a box soon and it's great info to have.

I'm trying to visualize your setup, John. If the front of the box is 11", won't it be difficult to do forward firing with that sub's overall diameter of 10.5"? And unless you're going ported won't that enclosure be too much volume for the 10W6v2?

I don't know yet. I haven't even thought much about it.
