I've got a pretty basic question here. I have two JL 10W0 woofers with an Alpine mono amp that I took out of a truck I had several years ago. I was using an aftermarket deck with this setup in the last truck and built my own box and it sounded nice, and wiring was straight-forward with the RCA jacks in the head unit. I would now like to put the woofers in my 02 supercrew, but would prefer to use the stock CD player and head unit. I know that I'll need a line out converter to supply power to the RCA jacks, but do not know how to hook one of these up-I've never seen one. Do I tap into some wires on the back of the stereo? Tap into the door speakers? Is the line converter a plug and play unit? Basically, I'm looking for some install info for dummies when using an amp, woofers, and the stock HU. Any help is much appreciated.

 

From what I have personally done i can tell you that it's real basic. Usually you just need to tap into some speaker wire. I tapped into my rear speakers in my 01 but I have also just tapped into all 4 speakers right behind the HU. If you google this it will give you a much better instruction and probably show you some pics o f the installation process.
