Sure its not just a loose screw or something that makes the speaker, or door panel, or something rattle when its turned up?

How are your gains set?

Are they doing it on one particular song? Or all music (songs)? Check all the above that have been mentioned first. Also, like mentioned...do you have the amp set properly with a DMM or by ear?

Also...did you change any xover points...meaning are you rolling them off at a lower hz? Check that too, maybe you accidently lowered your xover points for the mids.

That's probably the problem right there. Any set of components worth a dang need some power to do their thing...deck power (especially a stock deck) isn't going to do the job.

So you think blown from being under powered?

Component speakers off your stock deck will sound like crap when you crank it....just about no matter what you have. Maybe thats all your experiencing.

With nice components is easier to hurt them by underpowering them than by over powering them. They can usually handle 75 to 150 watts per channel. Most Head Units, even the good ones only put out about 14 watts RMS. So when you crank it up, the components are getting very dirty and possibly damaging power, instead of clean pure power that they need.

Lumadar, I'm trying to find someone that has had the opportunity to compare the sound of a JL Stealth box to say 3 8's firing up. Trying to decide which way to go.
Any idea?
Looking for clean tight and fast, ability to hit 808's would be nice but not at the expense of SQ. I've heard people say that 3 8's firing up sound better than 2 10's firing down. But I have yet to talk to anyone that has had the chance to compare it to JL's awesome Stealth box.
Thanks in advance
Tim.
