Occasionally you'll find the sub listed on eBay so you might want to search there from time to time. Good luck.

I have no idea why you would WANT that...

The "audiophile" stuff is NOT worth going out and buying, at any price. It's mediocre at best.

Save yourself some money, hassle, and poor sound quality and get some cheap polks or pioneers instead.

I would not paint such a sorry picture of the upgraded OEM system. Everyone has different tastes, and the Audiophile system, when purchased relatively inexpensive, after the fact, is great value. It does not sound too bad either...many members on this forum have them and really like them.

Some people prefer to have a clean factory look, without having to worry about getting their gear ripped off. I bought my truck second hand, had it for less than one month, before waking up one morning to apile of glass, a torn up dash, and my nice Kenwood double-din touch screen removed. Trust me, I was wishing I had my Audiophile installed at that point. While I appreciate the sound quality of a new expensive system, it comes with strings, and being a target for thieves is one of them.

I can completely understand everything you are saying for two reasons: one, my Dad has a 2004 screw WITH the audiophile system. Doesn't just any different from what I had stock plu a little overly rumbley bass, and two I have a complete aftermarket system valued at over $3,000 that is 100% "stock" in appearance. I have a JL stealth box, amps behind the back seats, speakers (including componeents) in stock locations, and a factory deck being optimized with a JL AUDIO Cleansweep. Oh, and my XM commander is inside my ashtray...so when closed my interior remains 100% stealth/stock, yet I can crank the heck out of it when I need to.

If you want an upgraded stereo, I'm just trying to explain that switching from factory to factory "audiophile" is a lot of work for a VERY minimal gain.

There are other options

I agree with Lumadar. It's one thing to already have the Audiophile system and just be happy with it.
However going to the Factory Audiophile from a non-Audiophile vehicle can be tuff to find the parts and they are not that cheap. With a little bit more money and a little effort you could have much better sound.
I have seen the OEM subs boxes and such but I have heard the the harness that connects everything to the deck is missing usually.
In other words. If a vehicle did not come from the factory with the subwoofer, there is no harness there to connect. If it did come with it and the sub or box broke and you need a new one to replace it, then obviously it's a straight drop in.
I could be wrong but that it what I think you might run into.
I work for a Ford Dealer and the parts department does not even show the harness on their parts list.
So...if you do decide to take on this venture, make sure you have the proper harness to connect it all.
Tim.

I have all the harnesses in place from ford. just wanting to get a little more out of it. I think I could get everything for the audiophile for under 300.00. Sub, 6disk cd, and components. I don't think I could go after market for under 300.00. Dave

I have been considering selling my complete system and installing the Pioneer AVIC-Z1 in the dash.

I have the 6 disk in dash changer and the rear seat DVD system. I will be keeping the sub-woofer.

Send me an email and let me know if you are interested in what I have. I can get some pictures if you need them.

I have already discussed the DVD system with another member, but we haven't made any deals yet.
