will 6 1/2 inch speakers fit in the front of my 05 screw?

I have an 05 Supercrew and I heard that 6 1/4" speakers fit I believe. I'm wondering if I can transfer my alpine 6 1/2" speakers from my old truck to my new F-150. Does anyone know if the mounting holes are in the same place or do I need to makeshift something to mount them to?

I just transfered Infinity 6 1/2's to all 4 doors this weekend, You need to get some speaker adapters and it will probably take about 1/4 of triming on the front door cutout. Ther rears are cake after the door panel is removed, there isn't an actual exact cutout so the no modifing was done. I also flsuh mounted the tweeters I had in the hole left by my crank windows when I went to power.

I used these adapters, they kind of suck though, if you can find better use them. These seem to be thick enough, just not very tough

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by 1/4" trimming on the front door cutout. Also my truck is power windows and specifically has a place where the tweeters are mounted already. Where did you get the adapters? I didn't see them for a 2005 F-150 on that specs sheet on the link you sent me. I appreciate all you r help.

I think he meant using the universal adapter plate switching from 5x7 to 6 1/2

I used the 5x7/6x8 to 6 1/2. You will need to cut about 1/4" off of the front door speaker hole since it is made exact for the Ford speaker. when you put the 6 1/2 in the adapter there is about 1/4 of the speaker that sticks above the adapter (at least it did for me) and it wouldn't fit in the door. This is for the front speakers only, the rear speakers are easy they don't have that plastic cutout to deal with

I used a 1/4 inch piece of plywood and made an adapter plate using the old speaker as a pattern. I did not have to cut my doors at all. I do have a 2001 but I believe our speaker holes are the same, standard Ford 6x8s.

Brypink got his new Rainbow's to fit. Those bad boys are basically a 7" mid. There is some slight trimming involved but with the right adapter, should not be much.

yeah I have infinity 6 1/2's in mine. the adapter fits great by itself, when you go and add the speaker to it you need to cut a small crecent shape out of the top of the plastic. I did it with a drill and a file, that was all I had, and it took about 40minutes to put both in.

Not only that, they are basically 4" of mounting depth too.
