Are they installed from the front or did you mount them and then reinstall the door panel over the top of them.

It is hard to tell from the pics.
The tweeter doesn't look so bad, but the other one is a bit large.
Thanks

dave
fronts are mounted on the adaptor plate and they will pop in the panel, the only thing I cut was the tweeter hole a little larger... if you make your own adaptor plate you can use two factoy mounting holes and use small bolts in the other two holes.....

not use what you mean here.. ??

Thanks for the replies, I will put them in tomorrow.

Sometimes the translation is lost by the time it gets to the fingers from the brain.

What i meant was the tweeter doesn't look bad to install, but the woofer seems a bit big to fit in the opening.

I picked up a couple of metra adapter plates.

MMC6500 tomorrow in front doors
How do they sound on the higher freqs?

I have the Polk DB5250 (5 1/4")and they are really loud on the tweeters. I didn't notice any adjustments mentioned in the manual for the crossover for my speakers. I know some crossovers will drop the level on the tweets.

I have some 6812cf 6x8 infinity's in the rear doors and they sound better on the mids but their bigger speakers match my amp.

Polk tweeter are bright at higher power levels, clear as a bell, but bright..
my MMC6500 are cut at -6db on crossovers.. I don't think the DB series can be cut on the crossovers... if you have a EQ in your HU, you can turn them down there......

No kidding about them being bright. I've been adjusting the eq in the headunit and it's a chore to find a nice balance. Been thinking of trying to redirect/move the tweeters out of my face cause that mount location high in the door is just too close for these tweeters.

I placed a order for the MMC650 to try out from millionsbuy. Great price compared to crutchfield! Their rated RMS matches my amp so it should sound better and provide better mid-bass. Might take my DB's and install them into that area below the shifter or buy some q-logic kick panels. It's been a decade or so since I took car audio seriously. So this should provide a few good headaches.

did you order MMC650 Coaxial or MMC6500 Components??
MMC650 Coaxial DO NOT HAVE tweeter control on crossovers, just so you know...

ack! I got the 650. damn the 0. If I ever catch that zero I am going to nail it's bloody hole to the ground and it will never leave again! DAMN the ZERO!!! ah well who couldn't use a extra set of MOMO's?

At least the tweeters won't be up so high this time so I don't shrill every time some high freqs come out at high volume.

You can mount the 650's in the back doors... thats what I did... actually, I see you have 6812, same as I had front and back... you like them, mind sounded like sh$t.... I will assure you those 650 in the backs will smoke the 6812...

Oh I wouldn't want to run the 6812's alone. The work pretty good as mid range fillers. The Polks db's are so bright it's been hard to dial them in on the mid range . I went ahead and orderd the MMC6500 this time including the zero. I bet going to pure MOMO all around will sound fantastic. Now I just need to get another amp to give them 6500s the proper power.

Truckin -

Looks like the Momo's were made for it! I will be ordering the same set up for my '04 Screw. Anything to be aware of? Yours looks great.

nothing to watch on the speakers, but not to sure about the rated power, maybe I just got a bad set...maybe the solder strip in the crossover..
just don't buy them from MillionBuy.com...

I've had mine a few weeks and they are really sounding good now that they are broken in. I would perfer 2 sets of the 6500's since they have a higher power rating. The 6500's also sound better on the mid bass than the 650's.

Aside from the warranty issue Millionbuy is a cheap place to buy from. I'd buy there before I would on ebay unless you find a good seller with an unbeatable deal.
