JL 6.5 Component Fit?

I am going to purchase a set of JL XR650-CSi Component speakers and i want to mount them in the front doors of a 2004 f-150 regular cab. What all will i need to make the mounting go seamlessly. Adapter plates? Anything else? Will they even fit?

i think you migh have to kinda trim and shove them in.... because the mounting spot in the front door of the 04+ is a perfect oval hole for a 5x7. the speaker fits in that baby tight. I dont have 6.5's in the front but thats what I think.

Probably some trimming involved and an adapter plate.

They fit with some work

Well i just completed a similar addition to a 2003 regular cab F-150, and in order to make them fit you have to do a little cutting, (a jigsaw with metal cutting blade works nicely), but you might wanna invest in some dynamat to prevent any rattling or whistling. For the adapter plates though, i cant help ya there because my components came with plates, but JL is pretty good about that kind of stuff, so you should be sitting nicely, if you need anymore help just drop me a line.
