Time for Componets, Reviews please

I would like to know what componets you all would suggest and why.

Ideally I would like to spend from $200-$300, and I want the best sounding I can get. I will be driving the componets with a 300 watt Pioneer amp . It has Mosfet power, so I believe it will get the job done.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Only one word comes to mind....Rainbow.

(Now watch all the haters swarm in)

Do a search here for them, I've talked about them quite a bit. Check them out http://car.rainbow-audio.de/home/home.php?lan=2, they have sets ranging from $100 to $10K plus. They spend alot on R&D and have a wide range to compliment any system you are building.

The only draw back...it would be hard to find a set to audition. They are from Germany and only have 2 US distributors right now. I'm sure no one here will or have anything bad to say about them though...and there are a few that have them.

Yeah, I can get you some...I know one of the distributors. Email me if you want brypink@***.net.

In your price range you need to look at the SLCs.

They are indeed fantastic speakers. I am running the older Contour series. I have three 5 1/4 sets running front left, front right and center channel. The Contour series was one of the less expensive models and I can only imagine how good the higher up models sound. I do not think you can go wrong with any of their lines.

Do people on these boards actually flame/hate on the Rainbows? Hah, goes to show they don't know ****.

Rainbows are THE ****. If I had a bigger budget I would run them myself.

Run into any problems mounting your Rainbows in your doors? Anything like mounting depth etc...etc... I'm seriously thinking about trying a set. Not for sure if I want to keep these JL's in the doors & use the Rainbows in kick panels or what. These JL's sound pretty good but I'm sure the Rainbows will put them to shame. The set I'm running is the JL XR5x7 CSi series. Probably looking at between $200 -$300 also if I could get a set.

haha, well my system is already in...and I got both sets of MOMO seperates for under $225 (total) so I was stoked on that. And I *used* to be swimming in cash but I have been unemployed for 5 months, and plan to be for another 3 years! lol

I need to STREEEEEEEETCH the savings.

Hey brypink2, can you get me a price on these? Thanks.

I really like these, but I'm not for sure if I have enough room for them. Kinda really need to save some money right now anyway. Just give me a price for both if you can.

Rainbows in a 2006 KR SCrew

Ok, all these posts got me interested. Which ones sound the best for around $400-$500 and will fit in my truck? Also, where or who do I order them from? I have a 2006 KR SCrew w/ Audiophile right now. Thanks in advance.

Ex4me - I sent you an email about the speakers you requested. In the $200-$300 range would be the SLCs. Very nice speaker set.

About the PowerLines...I haven't received mine yet. FedEx lost them during shipment and I'm awaiting reimbursment from them. Then I have to order them again and wait for them to be shipped from Germany. They are not a item he keeps stocked. I'm not positive I will be able to get them to fit. Although I looked at it and I think I can...but, we'll see when I finally get them. *Too lazy to change back my signature*

Jwool15 - That link didn't work.
