Sealed Box Volume Question
My rewired factory sub not going to cut the mustard....
A question for some of you savy audio guys, I just odered a ED 11Kv.2 D2 sub.
I'm going to build a single sealed downfiring wedge 10" box to fit under my scab seat, what volume should it be for this sub ?? ED shows .5 is ideal on a 14x12 cube, would this still be the ideal on a wedge???
I have everything I need laying around the work shop, 3/4MDF, screws, glue, silicone, ect,ect... just need black or gray carpet
Will be powered with a Eclipse EA2000 Bridged at 175W RMS @ 4 OHMS

Thanks Bartak, I was my thinking, but wanted another opinion..
what length coarse thread drywall screws are recommend for 3/4" mdf, it looks like a 3/32 bit for a pilot hole will work...
I haven't built a sub box in 20 years... trying to get a little info before the weekend project...
Thanks Again..

I just built a box for my truck and I used 1 1/2 inch drywall and they worked fine.
However, I did predrill an 1/8 " hole through both boards. I liquid nailed and sealed the inside and outside of the box with liquid nail. I also put the screws 4" apart. Worked great.
Hope this helps

I cant even remember what size screws I usually use. I just grab a box that looks like it will work, around 2 inches or so. Remember, its mainly the glue that holds the box together, not the screws.
Just cover every bit of every edge with the liquid nails, screw it in a couple places to hold the box together while its drying, then run silicone along each inside edge with your finger, and you good to go.
