System over haul!

So it seems my amp is dead, tommorow ill be hooking my avalanche up to my friends 1605d just to finally hear it. Anyways im looking at a US amps 2000d, ribbon tweets and dayton 8 refs (4 ohm) to start off with. Then a new deck and seperate amps to go active.

Anyone know of any other 1 ohm stable mono amps (800 + w) for around 200, or any good deals around?

Alrite scratch the daytons, i just ordered some AA mids and plan to cross them at 3k with the BG Neo 3 ribbons. Anyone have any input on an external active x-over, or should i just get an eclipse deck? The new eclipse lines look pretty sexy in person, and i haven't even the seen the high end ones yet.

If you can swing the price Id get a HU that is 3 way active and a nice nice amp and just run the amp all pass. Do all the cross over stuff on the deck.

Of it you cant get a HU that can do 3 way, if you have a good amp with a nice, and highly adjustable xovers you can just do all the cross over stuff on the amp.

I think im forced to get a new h/u due to the fact that the ribbons are so sensitive, I would have to tone down the power of the amp, and my 9825 won't due that. For 3-way your refferring to the sub too rite?

That new 7000 Eclipse (forgot exact model #) is pretty slick. Even the 5000. Also, look in to an Alpine HU that has proceesor control and get the H701. I guarantee you won't be upset with that combo, I love mine!

Why did you choose to go with ribbons?

The ribbons are 10 mm deep, can mount in the a-pillar area with no back plate, only need 10 watts, are hella cheap, and play down to 2k hz. So i figured id give them a shot.
