sub and amp advice
sub and amp advice
Im pretty new at this but have done some research. I want to know if a zapco 500.1 referance amp and 1 Treo TSX 12" sub combo along with a zapco 200.2 referance amp and two 1-6.2 zapco 6.5" front speakers will give me the sound quality I want for my supercab...But also thinking of two 10" treo subs...Or just go with the 1000.4 amp for everything...Sound quality is what i am aiming for...

I don't know much about zapco but your amp to speaker ratios are pretty good. Depending on the power handeling of the sub, a 500.1 amp might not do the trick. Treo make really high quality subwoofers that deliver strong, low bass response. another thing is space. depending on the truck that you have, the enclosure might not provide the propper amount of airspace for a 12" sub. so check on that and check on the rms and peak power handeling of the subs u are interested in first. If a little extra money isnt an issue, I would reccomend going with 2 10" JL Audio w3v2 subs with a Jl 500.1 amp. Then you could go with the JL TR mids and highs with the 300.2 amp. This all will be a bit more sxpensive, but the quality will blow you away.
Not to bag on Big D, but personally i think the w3v2's are crappy. I went and listened to one not to long ago and was not impressed whatsoever. On the other hand though, the treo's are really badass, i would stick with them they blow the w3's completely out of the water. The only sub worth buying of JL's impo are the dub7's.
Appreciate the advice. Just not sure if 1 12" Treo tsx sub 400w rms or 2 10" treo subs 400w rms will sound better in my scab...amp will probably 500.1 zapco reference, but not sure if that will be enough to push the 2 10's

Something you wont' hear from me very often...but, dump the Zapco 6.5 comps. That's right, I thought they sounded like ***. I compared them on a sound board (I know) to Utopias and Dynaudios...everything was the same and playing flat. I just wasn't impressed!
BTW, my Treos are still for sell...can't go wrong with them!
