Send me or post the specs for the IDMAX 10 D4, please? I need the mounting hole size, overall diameter, etc.

I can't for some reason open the ID website from my work computer! I usually can, but not TODAY for some reason!!!! Darn govt. computers!

You are not thinking about replacing those 10W7's are you? What are you cooking up this time

LOL I'm thinking about it...just to do an A&B comparison. The problem though is the mounting hole...the W7 is 8.75" and the IDMAX is 9.6". If I do it and like the W7's better, I'm screwed! I would have to build another box...what a PITA!!! Other problems are:

1. A chance of the basket hitting the inside of the top board (since the bigger mounting hole)...it's at an angle and is 11" in the front.

2. That's the other problem...overall diameter, The W7 is only 10.5" (which gives me about 1/4" top & bottom) but the IDMAX is just over 11" (11.063).

The upside...is the IDMAX's are cheaper and handle more power (all within the same box specs)! Since I like the sound of the IDMAX, I would come out ahead all the way around! I don't know why I didn't go with them in the first place!?

So...what do you think? I love both of these subs! I think it would be cool to hear them in the exact same set-up.

Oh, you know me. I'm gonna say go for it

But, personally, I have never heard a W7. I have owned the IDMAX 12" subs and still think they are the best sub, period. I am still trying to figure out how to put one in the Mustang's Scosche enclosure.

I think I'm gonna!

I know I will be just as happy with the MAX...I absolutely love them! Again, I don't know why I didn't just go with them in the first place!

I'm telling you, 12" sub...the SI MAG! Just do a search on it over at CA.com and see what is said about it...if you don't trust me. LOL

Why not just built a 3/4" mdf plate to mount the ID max to and then mount that to the box? Maybe with the additional clearance the sub will fit without cutting a completely new hole. It wont change volume much, so that should not be an issue.

This would be ok for the comparsion...but not for long term. The subs would stick out too much.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

That is what I meant, the comparison. If you decided to go with the IDs, then you could cut new holes in the box.

I just read on the SI website that the Mag is only in D2? My Zapco is a 3.0x which means 600 @ 2ohms but only 300 @ 4 ohm. I am thinking a new box for a 10" or 12" IDMAX might be in order. Or make a new ring for the Scosche to increase the depth.
