IDQ distance from floor

Would the IDQ10 dual 2ohm be ok downfiring if it's 1.25 inches from the floor or does it need to be higher. And bear in mind I have rubber floors....no carpet in my truck. Or would it sound better facing forward.

The bottom of the box is 1.25 inches from the floor, or there is 1.25 inches from the sub to the floor? If its the latter, you should be fine.

If its 1.25 inches from the bottom of the box to the floor, that might be pushing it, maybe. I say this because of the hieght of the mounting flange/gasket and surround-because that will put the sub closer to the floor and possibly hit. If you understand what Im saying here?

It's 1.25" from the box to the floor...so I'm guessing the sub surround would be maybe a half inch or so.

I guess I'll just put it in a small forward firing sealed box. Nobody ever sits back there anyway.

Xmax of this sub is like 1/2" (someone correct me if I'm wrong). So yeah, you might be psuhing it. If you have the time and materials, I would build both and see what sounds best. But, I know most people don't.

Yeah, 13mm Im thinking the ID site says (which is pretty much exactley 1/2 inch).

Could you raise it to like 2 inches from the box to the ground? That would definatley be enough. Maybe its enough the way it is now, Im just not sure of the exact dimensions of that sub to tell you.

To put the bottom of the box 2 inches off the floor I'd have to raise the seat and I don't really have the money to do that

I have the music moose audio box and I have never measured how close my ID is. Oh yeah, forgot to tell you guys that it was installed finally. I am kind of dissapointed with the SPL of the sub but I do realize it is a truck, it's only one 10", and there is very little airspace down there. The sound quality is very nice and clean though.

I think if I ever decide I need more I am going to get a seat lift and a custom ported box that is actually tuned to my sub. Hey, I might even put another ID down there, you never know.

The IDQ isn't for SPL. If you want SPL, you need a sub that can handle more power.
