Factory Speaker Wires

Can the factory speaker wires on an 06 F150 Screw handle 200 watts per side? I looked at the rubber boots in the doors and it looks like it would be a real PITA to fish wires through it (if it's even possible). The wires for the crossovers to my comps don't appear to be of a very big gauge and suupposedly will handle the power so why wouldn't the factory wires work?

Thanks

there can be many breaks(plugs/connectors) in the stock wiring that could lead to signal loss and or amp overheating. If you've spent the money on an amp big enough to put out 200 watts per channel continuous than you might as well deal with the PITA to get the most out of it.

OK, I pulled out the connector plug and noticed that there is no free area in the socket where the plug fits to drill a hole through, much less trying to figure out how to get a drill between the doors anyway.

Any ideas????????????Anyone???????????????

Fishing though the doors isnt as bad as it looks. It does take some time but a good old coat hanger will do the trick thats what i did.

However in my buddies superduty, to wire up the speakers in his rear doors we used the stock wiring as it is impossible to fish the wire though the rear door.

It has been holding up perfectly for the last 4 months..

Like Bushtree said, some wire and a little patience is all you need. Heck, I have wire, but I dont have patience, and I still managed it. Im not sure how different the 04+ ones are compared to the older ones though.

IMO, new wire is the only way to do it, using the stock wire just isnt right.

My old truck was a 2002, and i did a stereo install in both of them. The new body style trucks are much easier to fish wire though the door that the old body.

Not mine...............I have an 06 Screw, stripped the doors, undid the rubber boot on the door side, tried to fish through with a coat hanger and found.................THE DREADED MOLEX PLUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ain't gonna work, pulled the plug, no free space to pass wires thru and it looks like a porcupine in there.........................

@#%&(&^%* I don't want to drill no stinkin holes.....................

What gauge is the factory wire ? If it is 16 or better, don't worry about replacing it. It will be just fine.

Flame suit on !!!
