LMI welding (Yahoo search) makes a lift kit for our seats. I got mine off ebay.

how much do they go for on ebay usually?

also has anyone else made their own lift kit or should i just wing it, wouldn't think it would be too hard to make the kit

I was just lucky enough to run across one somebody had for sale. I don't know if it would be worth the trouble to make your own. The center pivot bracket is fairly complicated.

If you have acces to a metal shop and tools, Id save the money and make one yourself. IIRC those LMI ones are like 100 bucks or so (or am I way outta line, who knows for sure?)

Ive been thinking about making some and selling them here for the folk sthat need them; seems like there is always someone looking for one. I havent gotten any further than thinking about it though.

I don't know how the earlier model's rear seat works, but the 04-06 flips up the base of the seat. The center pivot bracket looks like it may be kind of labor intensive to build and the factory bracket doesn't sit flat on the floor like the side and seat belt brackets, so a simple spacer block may be out of the question . The 99-03 may be as simple as a spacer block since the seat bottom doesn't flip up (or does it????) I have access to a metal shop and I am an AWS certified welder, so I was going to attempt this project, but after seeing the center bracket for the 04-06 I decided to set my sights on a light bar instead ( I can't see spending over $200 for a piece of pipe and 2 brackets just because it say KC on it).

Yea i would never pay $100 for a seat lift. I imagine i could spend about 2 hrs tops, cutting, welding, and drilling my own.
