05 Supercrew Rear Speakers

I just replaced my rear factory with Alpine SPS-570A Not much more bass response. It sounds like the rear speakers dont put out any bass and not just in my truck. If you fade to the front there is much more bass response. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a crossover at the head unit blocking the bass? 6-cd mp3 hu.

I have ordered from Crutch Boston Acoustics S85 6"x8" 2-way Speakers
for the front nice guy named Keith suggested them. I just always liked the sound coming from the back and dont want to install a sub. Any other suggestions?

If you want to get any bass response out of aftermarket speakers, you will need to amp them. Factory speakers are made to work with factory head unit, low power, high sensitivity and paper cones allow them to move easily creating what would seem like more bass. If you put some power to aftermarket speakers, you will notice the increase in bass response. If you want even more than you will need to consider making some modification of the doors to fit some larger speakers.

I use to feel that I liked the rear sound as well until I put together a properly setup system with an acurate front stage and the imaging was so good that rear fill was not necessary at all. I think if you listen to some higher end setups that are setup this way, you might change your mind about the rear sound.

The problem may be that the factory unit doesn't push enough watts to move your speakers. I just ordered a new Alpine HU and will probably upgrade the speakers next. Then I should get some decent bass from the rear speakers.

Concentrate on your front speakers, invest in some sound deadening and an amp for your fronts, you want your main sound stage coming from up front. Look into some quality components, and you want mid bass, so get 6.5s if you can.
