Finally back from shop. INstall pics
Ok heres a list of what i got installed.
Headunit - Alpine IVA-D310
Changer - Alpine 6 disk
5.1 Processor - Alpine PXA-H701- Mounted behind the headunit vertically
Front speakers- JL Audio ZR-570csi components
Rear Speakers - JL Audio XR-570cxi coaxials
Subwoofer- JL Audio 10w3v2
Enclosure - Q-logic Q-forms
Sirius Sat unit for Alpine
Amp for speakers - JL audio 300/4
Amp for sub - JL Audio 250/1
JL wiring all around
I went with this setup cuz my dealer gave me a price i couldnt refuse
Ill give a review about the sound in about a week or so AFTER the speakers or broken in. At first i wanted to put a 450/4 for the speakers but after talking with a JL rep he was kinda iffy on the new ZR seeing 150rms wats each. So i bumped it down to the 300/4. Im still working with the processor to deal with the sound that i want. Right now the treble is alittle too bright for my taste but that can be easily fixed with some tuning. As for the head unit, I LOVE the damn thing. The pulse touch feature does wonders. I feel like im actually pushing a botton. My girlfriend that is computer illiterate even has an easy time operating it. I mean everything is just so straight forward. The faceplate is removable for saftey reasons of course. For all the people wondering, YES i can watch DVDs while driving. At first it wouldnt let me but thats nothing a PAC couldn't fix. No dumb message telling me or reminding me to make sure my truck is in park bla bla bla. I mounted the two amps behind the bench out of site, no screws neccessary due to the size of the amps, they snug behind the bracing for the seats PERFECTLY and will not move. Sorry i forgot to take pics when the seats were down. I will later in a couple of days when i turn up the gain on these babies. I put the gain low for now since im still waiting for my speakers to break in and dont want to stress them out to soon. CD changer was put in the center consule for easy access. If i slam the lid down hard it will coz it to skip thats about it. Doesnt skip for anything else aka bumps on road. The bass is alright. If you want loud then i would put two in but for a sound quality the one is just perfect for my taste. The bass hits deep and tight AND doesnt rattle ***** in the truck. My days of having my W7 being heard from 3 blocks away are gone (Getting to old for that now i guess). I was worried at first of rattle due to the fact that i have a RollBack bed cover in the back that it would rattle the ***** out of it. But no worries there. The speakers fit in the stock places perfectly. No cutting or trimming was neccessary. I know im forgetting something to tell yall about but i cant pin it yet. I guess ill remember later or post it in my update of the system review. Here's the pics of the setup so far.

Tell me what yall think! or any suggestions i should do. I will be adding a center speaker later to get a true 5.1 sound but right now my processor is creating a phantom center speaker for me and that will do until i want to take the plunge again. Once again i will post pics of the rear seat removed showing my wiring of the amps and how they are locked in in my update.

Looks good man. I just went by the shop yesterday and talked to him about what im wanting to do... Seemed like a stand up guy, and was pretty honest about prices (I've done my homework)
Anyway, I walk in and start talking to the guy, and hes like, hey, are you Mario? Im like WTF, hows this guy know my name? He said you mentioned I might be coming by. It was funny, cause the first thing I did was look down at my shirt for a name tag
Anyway, sweet looking setup. Hows that 10w3 sound in that box? Did you get any pics of the amps? He mentioned that sub box you got. You get it online?

Nice stuff but PLEASE turn those amps around so the fins face up! You have got to give the heat some where to go, other than back onto the circuit board. That ALPINE hard drive is also a rare piece to find. Do you like the ZRs, I have had the XR570s for a long time and they are great, wondering if the ZRs are worth the upgrade.

No way! I walked into the same shop and started talking to the guy, and he's like "Hey dude, are you Luigi?" And Im totaly like "How in the HE!! does this guy know my name." He said Mario mentioned Id be droppin' by. It was funny to, because I looked for a nametag on my shirt too, but then I figured the green over-alls gave some of it away.
Hehe, sorry. I couldnt help myself.Sound like a nice (and pricey
) system. As for 'breaking the speakers in", I wouldnt worry to much about that. Some people will say you should, others will say you dont need to-Im one that says you dont need to. I **** on speakers the second I get them in with no 'break in' time and I have NEVER had any problem with longevity or durability or anything. If you ask me, there isnt really anything to break in.But theres absolutley nothing wrong with runnin the gains low and takin it easy the first week, if it gives you the extra sense of security thats perfectley fine, I just see no need for it. Thats my 2 cents anyway.
Looks good though
ok finally got everything situated with the speakers. i couldnt have been more happier with my purchase. There was only one thing that bugged me about the head unit. Sometimes just sometimes when the screen will open up there will be no pictures whatsover until i turn off and start the car again. Aparently this is common defect that alpine is aware of and my dealer replaced it witha new one that works perfect now. As for the breakin in of my speakers, i have noticed that there is alot more bass then there was in the beginning which aint bad at all. As for my PXA-H701, if you have anything like the D310 or their new double din, you absolutely have to get this processor. It offers so much more control over the speakers to match ANYONES listening needs and preferrences espcially with the optic cable that you get to use.
