Yes, the Type "R" gear is better, but I was trying to maintain his budget. If you throw budget out the window we can get really serious.

I think 125 for a pair of components is on track for a budget of 600 to 700. Then 200 for a 4 channel, 200 for a h/u, and whats left on subs. I would rather have a h/u with a few less features that are not needed than sacrifice on the front stage. But if he is not installing everything himself, then go with type s, as youll need the money for installations and wiring. On ebay type s comps are only like 30 bucks cheaper than type r's, though. Either way both are decent, for what you are looking for.

Ga Foo, I am supplying my own H/U...probably the DDX-8017 as I stated before. RMS for that is 22w I believe, says it has a built-in amp (probably still insufficient to qualify as LOUD).

This is a page that lists a few component speakers that should fit in the 04 F150. I am sure there are a ton more that would fit in our F150's but these have some good ratings as well. Would you guys recommend these or are they overkill?

Well would you rather have nicer speakers or nicer subs?Im guessing speakers.

I would suggest these products, and these will allow you to have money left over to spend on wiring, a box, whatever.

http://69.93.14.227/index.cfm?fuseac...roduct_ID=2643 x 2

that should be around 360 + 230= 590 shipped + wiring + box

If your $700 budget inlcudes installation, then get these http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/3791 or something similar

That is something like what i would do, if i listen solely to country on that budget. But remember everyone is gonna reccomend something different, so basically its up to you to decide.

Ok, after recommending those speakers, what sub would you go with for country, but better than the one you mentioned, if budget was still an issue, but not a big one.

Lets say I was looking more into name brand products, I've never even heard of some of those you mentioned, do they have a good rep/review(s). Thanks for the reply.

"Name" brand means next to nothing. Some of the absolute finest products in the world of car audio are products that 90% of users have never heard of. Because those 90% of users think that "high end" means MTX or Pioneer or Kenwood or Sony or Audiobahn or some such brand. NOT TRUE!!!

Ya, i wouldnt reccomend something from a sketchy company. Better usually means more expsensive. Some of the better bang for you buck companys, are usually small internet companys. The reason i reccomended two 8s, is becuase two dvc 4ohm 8s can be wired together at a 4ohm load and run effeciently off of the last two channels in bridged mode, well most 8s. I dont really see why you need a lot of low end for country music, really you just need some nice mids with some pop.
