Wiring kit for new system?
Wiring kit for new system?
Hi gang,
I have all my parts for my stereo to put in the truck. I've got 4 infinty Kappas, an alpine deck, Alpine V12 5 channel amp and 2 eight inch woofers in a subbox enclosure.
My question is ..where can i get a wiring kit?
Ive never done this before, but i guess i need 3 rca plugs, speaker wire and a power wire for the amp. Someone told me that i should get a fuse for the power wire too.
Does someone sell a wiring kit that would have all of this in it, or do i need to buy it all seperately?

You can buy Scosche wiring kits at Walmart. They make several different ones. You can get one that will work for a four channel setup and then you will have to buy another set of rca's to make it 6 channel. They are good kits at a good price.
Yeah, Scosche is pretty good for the price you pay. Or was anyway. Now they went el cheapo and have 11, 9, and 5 gauge (instead of the normal 10, 8, and 4) and the distro blocks and crimp terminals got shatty.
But if you can find an older one with the conventional gauge power wires, they are pretty good for the money. RCA's are cheap, but they work. I have a scoshe kit but replaced the RCA's with better.
Any stereo shop will have a kit though. You can get it all separate, but its usually twice as expensive compared to just buying it all together in a kit.
