best place to mount the amps?

Putting a sub enclosure under the back seat of my Scab. But where would be the best place to mount the amps? Thought about mounting between the box and the seat but I would have to lift seat about 5"

Had one stereo shop tell me amp can be mounted behind back seat cushion! I have a real problem with that though.

Whats the problem with mounting the amp behind the back seat cushion?

I have had my JBL and Diamond amp both mounted there, no problem. I did have to cut some seat bracing off the back, and also moved the bottom of the seat back out about 1.5 inches with some longer bolts and some pipe as spacing. Very simple though.

Under the front seats maybe? Thats about it.

I haven't though about adding spacers to add more room for air flow. The amps I have are MA Audio Hard Kore so they have cooling fans built in, just didn't want to smoother 'em since the sub amp will be running at 2ohm.

Haven't pulled my seat back off. There is enough room to mount 2 amps though?

I'm in the process of redoing my system. I am putting my amps in a rack under the middle of the rear seat with a sub box on each side. The middle bracket under the seat will be eliminated and the two end brackets raised about 3" using some aluminum channel I picked up at work. No longer bolts needed, just extra bolts to hold the channel to the bottom of the brackets. This added height allowed me to make my sub boxes taller and not so wide, so I have plenty of room for the amp rack. The boxes have internal dimensions of 15 1/2"x10 1/2"x 6 1/2", which gives me about 1/2 cubic foot with sub installed. I was even able to add spikes to give some clearance between the sub and the floor. The amp rack will be 3 decks when finished. I have 3 Zed Audio amps, all with the same identical chassis. The width of these amps allows me to have plenty of room for cooling fans in the rack. I'm using a design for the amp rack that I copied from www.bcae1.com. Don't have to worry about my amps getting scuffed up because they will be enclosed. Lifting the seat also allows use of the ledge under the seat back to be used. There's a lot of room there to utilize. I'm making a carpeted board the width of the truck and about 8" wide to mount here to hold crossovers, relays, fused distribution blocks, etc. In my opinion, there's not a better place in the truck to mount your amps. And, I retained all function of my seat.
