A tip to help you remove the front door panels

When I replaced my stock audiophile speakers this past weekend - I did a small mod that really makes it easier to get the front door panels off/on for later access (adding door handles, etc.)

I'm referring to the 4 plastic speaker fasteners that the speaker screws tighten into. I found that with a little bit of extra effort you can indeed remove the door panel w/o pulling them out (and risk destroying the speaker fasteners). The lower two are the issue and after removal of the door panels I simply got out my trusty dremel with a cut off wheel and cut a slot where each of the lower two speaker fasteners could easily slip through when removing the door panel. Worked well and did not compromise the door panel integrity nor the speaker mounting. Going to be a breeze when I pull them off the the LT door handle installation!!

I also applied 1/4" adhesive backed foam weatherstripping (available at any hardware store for your house doors) to the the back side of the front speaker "pop off" grills in the channel between the plastic snap fasteners.....the grill will not rattle now....I know...."too much time on my hands" but I try to anticipate potential squeeks/groans/rattles and isolate them B4 they become a problem
