Ohm Question

I have a Kicker 4ohm DVC driven by a RF 301S amp. Based on the images below, is this system ok being run parallel @ a 2ohm load?

2 Ohm or 8 ohm, thats it. Which means your going to hafta put it on once channel of that amp, and only get 150 watts.

Try to return it and get a DVC 2 ohm or a SVC 4 ohm you you can run it bridged on that amp and get your 300 watts.

Either go get another DVC 4 ohm sub so you can run on bother channels of the amp, 2 ohms on each, or return it and get a SVC 4 ohm. Most Amps won't run 2 ohm bridged.... so check out your amp specs first. Most amps will run 2 ohms per channel but then only 4 ohms bridged. You'll burn up the amp if you run 2 ohms bridged and it's not rated for it.

well...after sourcing several different places as to how I should go about getting a DVC 4ohm or DVC 2 ohm, I went with the DVC 2 ohm

The place I purchased (ikesound) and the place that installed it, said I should stick with a DVC 4 ohm for my RF 301S.

To get a better idea, I called Rockford Fosgate personally, and the rep disagreed with the idea of a DVC 4 ohm and recommened either a single 4 ohm or DVC 2 ohm.

Talk about contradictions! Based on the fact of what Bartak said and the RF tech, I went with the DVC 2 ohm. Can someone back me up and tell me I made a wise decision?

There's several ways to wire this fricken thing...and to be honest I'm so confused I can't tell which way is up. If someone has time, could you whip up a quick wiring diagram for my setup in MS paint to show how I should do this? Thanks everyone!

The DVC 2 ohm was the right choice. Who knows what the ikesound and installers were smoking.

I will make something on ms paint for you, just wait like 10-15 min and Ill post back here.

Here ya go.

Hopefully you can follow that. Hook a positive of one voice coil to the negative of the other voice coil, then the positive and negative that are left, just hook to the amp in bridged mode.
